Description
Impressive pair of French Empire Egyptian Revival chest by Harden Furniture Company, circa 1980s. Made from solid cherry with three dovetailed drawers, caryatid and ormolu mounts, and marble tops. The beautiful figural caryatids are set within tapered columns along the outside stiles of each chest. Drawers are accented by classic brass ring pulls. An exceptional pair that were manufactured as bedside chests / nightstands. Due to their perfect size they will work well in an entry or living room as consoles / commodes or side tables.
Harden was founded in 1844 by Charles S. Harden. It was one of the oldest family-owned and operated furniture manufacturers in the United States. After 175 years of business, the company ceased operations in 2018
