Signed below the address by the Officers and Friends of Surrey. Dated 10th March 1879.
Text reads: "We, the Officers and Friends at Surrey desire by this Testimonial to express our appreciation of your services during the term of your Ministry amongst us, and of the Christian spirit you have uniformly manifested; we also beg your acceptance of a Purse of Gold and a Ministers Secretaire. We assure you that when away in other spheres of Christian toil you will live in our memory and retain our affection: and devoutly will we pray that the Great Head of the Church will continue to own your labors in the conversion of very many souls who shall be the crown of your rejoicing in the day of God.
