Description
Late Victorian American Empire Style Sideboard, C. 1900. Features a rectangular form made from quartersawn oak with a unique in-cut top featuring three dovetailed drawers within the frieze, supported by contoured figural carved Griffin / Lion heads. The center surface is open with a bowfront over three larger drawers perfect for storage of china or glassware. The contoured "s" curved Griffin supports continue down over the front of the case leading to large paw feet over casters. The unique design and shape of this piece allow for versatility in use. It could be used as a drybar, credenza, buffet, server, console table, or sideboard.
