Antique Victorian Eastlake Walnut Burl Marble Top Dresser Chest of Drawers 38"

Description

Late Victorian Eastlake Chest of Drawers. Features a walnut frame with three dovetailed drawers with round escutcheon plates and brass hardware. The uppermost drawer has walnut burl veneered front, and the lower two are engraved with a foliate pattern. The stiles of the chest are fluted and stepped at the base, and the side panels are burled. The marble top, which was replaced at some point, is a little shorter than the frame.

Condition

Fair; structurally solid. Sun fading / discoloration. Finish wear to baseboard as well as marking and edgewear. Marble is a replacement which is slightly smaller than the width of the frame. Some lifting to the veneer as well as a small piece missing underneath the left drawer pull.
