This Herend Porcelain "Brave János Dragon Slayer" miniature figurine (model number 5595) beautifully captures the climax of Sándor Petőfi’s famous 1845 Hungarian epic poem. It portrays the heroic Hussar standing triumphantly atop the back of a defeated, twisting sea monster, pinning it down against a smooth white base. The dynamic piece features meticulous hand-painted details, showcasing a light blue tunic with yellow frogging, crimson trousers with gold embroidery, and a flowing cream cape, all topped by a plumed shako hat. Authenticated by a blue underglaze Herend crest and the incised number 5595 on the bottom, this piece often carries additional painter initials from the artisan who decorated it.
