Description
Circa 1920s buffet by Rockford Superior Furniture Co. Made from quartersawn oak with a serpentine backsplash and lower front apron. Backsplash accented with a scalloped flourish drawing warmth and synchrony with the knocker style drawer pulls. Features a larger upper drawer that spans the length of the piece followed by 2 smaller tiered drawers. The centrally located drawer is felt lined with compartments. Exterior doors open for additional storage. The buffet features turned legs that are braced by an H stretcher. A gorgeous piece that will make a neat addition to any setting.
Rockford Superior was based out of Rockford, Illinois and specialized in high grade furniture that was wholesaled to furniture and department stores for resale. This particular piece was purchased from the May Company in Cleveland, Ohio. May Company was a large department store that opened in 1914.

Condition
This piece is in great overall condition. There is a ring/ burn mark towards the very back of the top surface from a bottle or candle. Otherwise very minimal marking from use. This piece was refinished in the 1970s.
