Description

Antique storage bench from Hungary with original Folk Art paint, dated 1899. This sturdy pine bench is painted with an original rust colored background and five floral panels in green and orange on the back, seat and front. If you look closely, the date 1899 is painted in white using the spaces in between the panels, on both on the backrest and the front baseboard. Inside the hinged seat is a large storage compartment. The wear on the original paint is commensurate with the age of the bench and still retains a lot of detail and vibrant colors. Signed along the back rest.
