Exquisite Pair of RJ Horner French Rococo Mahogany Marquetry Inlaid Twin Beds

Description

A stately pair of RJ Horner French Rococo style twin bed frames, circa 1890s. Made from mahogany with serpentine crest rails centered by dramatic carved cartouches. Each bed showcases an elegant marquetry backing in satinwood and kingwood inlay with floral foliate, swags, flowers, Neoclassical ribbons, a central basket and mother of pearl inlay. The beds have long inlaid side rails with serpentine aprons leading to acanthus carved and scrolled legs with brass capped feet. The beds can be pushed together to be used as a king.

Condition

Good antique condition, edge wear / alligatoring to finish.
