Stress bust art sculpture circa 1986, made of cast stone, handmade by Deborah Ballard (b.1951). Deborah is a native American Indian who was born in Dallas and has lived here most of her life. After receiving her Master of Fine Art Degree in sculpture from Southern Methodist University in 1991, Deborah has worked full time in her Dallas studio and has taught sculpture at SMU and The Creative Arts School in Dallas.
Awards include the Connemara Grant in 1991 and the Art Park Project Grant in 1996 and the Buffalo Bayou installation grant. Deborah's' work is included in collections nationally and internationally including The Tom Thomas collection, Dallas, The Hanley collection, Dallas, The Nylander collection, Stockholm, Sweden, The Dedman collection, Dallas, and The Museum of Art in Monterey, Mexico.
