Vintage hand made ceramic candle holder by John Nartker, featuring a green and brown glaze, an American Southwest inspired geometric design and drilled holes for hanging the holder as a lantern. Signed on base. BIO: John Nartker (1930-1988) is a multi-media artist whose specialties are painting, printmaking, and designing in clay. His works have been shown in over 250 one-man, group, and invitational exhibitions both in the United States and abroad, and are included in public, private and corporate collections. John was awarded the Ohioana Citation as the outstanding visual artist in Ohio for the year 1985 and is the recipient of an Outstanding Educator in American Colleges and Universities award. His works have been published in “The Guild” by Kraus-Sikes of New York City. “The Great Chess Set” was included in the 1987 “Guiness Book of World Records. Kalida native John Nartker resided many years with his family in Cincinnati, OH and served as Professor of art at the College of Mount St. Joseph.
