Antique Mendel & co steamer trunk. Massive in scale compaired to most steamer trunks. Made in Cincinnati, Ohio, circa 1900s.

Promoting itself as “the Aristocrat of Luggage,” the Mendel-Drucker Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, manufactured sturdy metal trunks for what it called the “class market.” They made traditional wardrobe trunks, sea chests, sample trunsk, cases, traveling bags, footlockers and telescopes.

Mendel made trunks with several partners, including Mendel-Drucker, Hartmann, and others. Famous for his wardrobe 'Trunx'

Fair condition, heavy wear and distressing, finish loss, rust, past water damage, metal patches, mostly intact leather handles, see pictures.
