Primitive Antique Pennsylvania Painted Pine Blanket Storage Hope Chest Footed

Description

An antique Early American blanket storage chest, Pennsylvania circa 1820-40s. A rectangular form made from pine with a yellowish painted finish. Features a hand dovetailed case, interior compartment (ditty box) and hand turned bun feet. A charming addition to any space.

The ditty box was often used to store bayberry candles which would also impart a lovely scent to the blankets or clothing that was often stored there

Condition

Good Antique Condition; general use related wear. Alligatoring to paint from age.
