Vintage Bavarian tea cup and saucer featuring the Pied Piper playing his trumpet and luring the rats away. Footed and scalloped with gold accents.

Handgemalt, Bavaria Wolf Kueps, Pied Piper of Hamelin, Der Ratten Fanger Von Hameln anno 1284.

The legend dates back to the Middle Ages, the earliest references describing a piper, dressed in multicolored ("pied") clothing, who was a rat catcher hired by the town to lure rats away with his magic pipe.
