Vintage print by Robert Kline titled “Sue” – Sea Maiden #19 – fictionally dated June 16, 1833. Print shows a nude sillouette of a pregnant mermaid with white hair wrapped in seaweed and a purple tail. Part of a series of pencil and watercolor illustrations by Kline which accompany his novel “The Forgotten Voyage of the H.M.S. Baci” in which multiple generations of the Robert’s family sail the seven seas in search of and documenting the world’s mermaid, sea baby and mermen population." Print pencil signed and titled. Included are two excerpts from Kline’s novel (also initialed) one of which describes the encounter with this particular maiden.
