Description

Antique English Regency cellarette / cassone casket / coffer / coffret, trunk or marriage chest. Made of carved mahogany featuring blind fretwork with Neoclassical floral and acanthus designs, fruit and berries, high relief carved lion heads and large ornate exquisitely detailed winged paw feet. In the manner of George Bullock, Circa early 19th century.

George Bullock (c.1777–1818) was a sculptor and furniture-maker working in Liverpool and London

Procured from a historic 1922 waterfront estate in Orcas Islands, Washington. Known for a Hollywood history, once home to Theda Bara and Silent Film producers with John Wayne and others regularly frequenting.

Condition

Good antique condition, wear and distressing commensurate with age and use, bubbling to front panel veneer, crack to interior base.
