Vintage Chinese Chinoiserie hand-carved wood relief panel / plaque depicting the famous Chinese idiom Bole Xiang Ma (伯樂相馬), Calligraphy translates to Bole selecting a horse, and represents finding hidden talent. The scene shows Bole, a legendary figure known for his ability to judge horses, interacting with a fine Tang horse. The legendary horse-tamer, who possessed the unique ability to recognize a qianlima 千里馬, thousand-li horse, a rare horse capable of galloping 400 km in a day. Frame border features sliced silvers of what appear to be walnuts.
