Description

This is a vintage Queen Anne style two-piece mahogany highboy chest manufactured by the Kaplan Furniture Company of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Constructed from rich solid mahogany wood, the upper section features a molded flat-top cornice over two side-by-side top drawers and three full-width graduated lower drawers, each fitted with central skeleton keyhole escutcheons. The lower base section houses one shallow full-width drawer stacked above a three-drawer configuration, highlighted by a central drawer featuring an intricate, recessed sunburst fan carving. The entire case is supported by elegant, slender cabriole legs terminating in traditional pad feet, adorned with classic, bright solid brass batwing backplate drawer pulls throughout.
