This antique hand-knotted `tree-of-life runner rug showcases a remarkably intricate, dense design despite experiencing significant, localized heavy pile wear and sun-bleaching across its central third.

Woven with an exceptionally sturdy structure, the vibrant brick-red field features an elaborate, symmetrical botanical network consisting of stylized weeping willow branches, flowering trees, and continuous floral shrubs detailed in midnight blue, olive green, and ochre gold. A wide, contrasting midnight indigo primary border lanes the entire perimeter, filled with a repeating geometric samovar or rosette motif flanked by thin guard borders. The close-up view of the reverse side confirms its authentic, tight hand-knotted weave and highly rigid foundation, although the face of the textile displays an asymmetric patch of extensive threadbare wear where the colorful wool pile has completely worn down to expose the cream structural warp and weft threads.
