Description
Vintage Royal Doulton 7266 porcelain toby character jug pitcher of Civil War from the US Wars collection. Circa 2007, 221 of 350. This double sided jug features a Confederate and Union soldier from the American Civil War.
The Confederate soldier has a prominent, thick brown mustache that curves downward past the corners of his mouth. His expression is serious, with blue eyes looking straight ahead and a slightly furrowed brow. He wears a military cap (a kepi or forage cap) and a gray military uniform jacket with gold buttons running down the center. The handle of the mug is formed by a Confederate battle flag (the Southern Cross) and medallion that reads Confederate Army 1861-1865.
The Union States soldier also has a serious expression, with a thick goatee and military cap. He wears a blue uniform with gold buttons and brown sash. The handle is formed by an American Flag, Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation, and a medallion that reads Union States 1861-1865.
