Rare Wildfowler Decoy NY Hand Carved Wooden Trumpeter Swan Folk Art Figure 18"

Description

This vintage Tundra Swan (or Trumpeter Swan) decoy was produced by the legendary Wildfowler Decoys company during their operation in Babylon, New York. The carved wood body features an elegant, gracefully arched neck and an elongated profile finished in a distressed, antiqued-white paint scheme that accentuates its smooth contours and age. True to the species, the head is detailed with a stark black bill that extends up to meet the eyes, contrasting sharply with the pale coloration of the body. The underside bears the distinctive, deeply pressed circular Wildfowler Decoys Babylon, N.Y. factory stamp, complete with a central duck-in-flight logo, a registered trademark symbol, and an integrated "Since 1939" commemorative text line set into an explicitly crackled, crazed paint finish that certifies its mid 20th-century authenticity.
