Description
Circa 1820 Stephen Folch dinner set in Bamboo & Basket pattern with Royal Arms mark, Circa 1825
Each piece has a light grey-blue glaze and has been beautifully and carefully hand-painted in a chinoiserie pattern in bold colorful enamels over a transfer printed outline with a dark ochre outer rim.
The plate is fully marked to the base with a Royal Arms mark having the Prince of Wales feathers behind and improved ironstone China below, all printed in black. A Plate in this pattern with the same back mark is illustrated on Page 243, plates 186 a & b, of Godden's Guide to Ironstone, by Geoffrey A Godden, published by The Antique Collectors' Club.
