Pair of miniature Meiji period Japanese satsuma style vases featuring monks or wise men and a female figure of a geisha or Empress of Japan.; signed on the base by artist Kashida Ginsho (樫田 吟松).
From right to left, Kanji mark reads:
(1) 大日本: Great Japan, short for Great Japanese Empire"" (大 means ""big, great"", and 日本means ""Japan)
(2)薩摩: Satsuma ware
(3)吟松造: the first two characters 吟松 is his first name, and � means ""create, made""
吟 means chant, recite. 松 means pine tree. A chanting pine tree-吟松
maker's full name is Kashida Ginsho (樫田 吟松)
The creator's name is 薩摩吟松, attributed to Empire of Japan period (1868–1947), because you don't see many 大日本 anymore, only 日本. The the creator is/was a Japanese.
