Description

A beautiful 18th Century colonial mahogany Newport, Rhode Island candlestand. Features a serpentine turtle top over a conical shaft leading to a tripod base with notched and shaped returns on cabriole legs and slipper feet. The conical shaft relates to the nautical aspect of the area and is very popular amongst period pieces. This candlestand in particular has a very pronounced conical shaft which distinguishes it from many others.

Condition

Good Antique Condition; some scratching and wear commensurate with age. Seam in top surface, past repair to one leg
