Antique 19th Century Italian Neoclassical Cast Iron Fireplace Insert Surround

Description

A rare and impressive mid 19th century Italian cast iron fireplace insert or surround. Marked along the backside Pedrazzi Moreau, SAM. Features a concave form with meticulous detail. At the center is a neoclassical floral wreath with olive branches extending through it. The sides of the insert have large ornate mantel urns signified by rams heads leading to a tripod base of hoof feet. Featuring a bouquet of roses flowing from its mouth and a surround of foliate, olive branches and ribboned accents. A gorgeous insert that will become a conversation piece in any setting.
