Description

A lovely Victorian era oil painting of a stately young fellow posing in a yellow silk button down and formal jacket. The painting is neatly framed in gold with acanthus, foliate and diamond pattern detail. Canvas is marked along the top stretcher but the writing is illegible

Provenance:
Estate of J. Frederic Gagel, owner of multiple Thoroughbred race horses that competed in the Narragansett Special and Kentucky Derby. Their family heritage was strongly intertwined with the military having officers in battles dating back to the American Revolution.

Condition

Good Antique Condition; restored at some point. Light wear to frame/ gilding
