Description

An impressive Spanish or Gothic Revival bedside table by Saginaw Furniture, circa late 1930s to early 40s. Made from oak with intriguing linen fold and diamond pattern acanthus carved accents. Sides are accented by quarter cut turned and applied spindles, raised diamonds and fluted accents. Opens to an interior compartment. Includes iron pull with a rustic gold toned finish.

Saginaw Furniture Shops, Inc. was founded in 1923 (incorporated January 19, 1928) by Lionel L. and I. S. Ginsburg in Saginaw, Michigan. Its industry was furniture and its headquarters were in Chicago, Illinois. In 1966, the company was acquired by Warwick Electronics, Inc. The company shut down in 1971, and by 1972 its Saginaw plant and assets were auctioned off.
