Vintage mid to late 20th century wall hanging 8 day, chiming / musical cuckoo clock by Emil Schmeckenbecher. Wooden house / chalet shaped case hand painted with Black Forest / Bavarian folk art decoration. Hand painted plastic figures depict a young man in lederhosen ascending a ladder to the window of his lover, getting caught by the farmer with his pitchfork. The farmer's daughter peers out of the right-hand window, while the traditional blue and white cuckoo bird pops out of the left. Black clock face with white hands and Roman numerals. Shield / sign shaped pendulum; includes three pine cone shaped weights. Chimes, bellows and music box. Case marked 8-66. Regula movement - GM 1884288 / 25 / Made in West Germany.
