Description

This antique lot consists of a rare, six-piece Victorian Gaudy Ironstone tea and coffee service decorated in a striking "Grapevine" or "Amoy" style pattern, dating from the mid-19th century (circa 1850–1860). The set features highly stylized, hand-painted cobalt blue grape clusters, twisting green vines, and rich copper-amber or luster-glazed foliage set against a stark white, heavy ironstone body. Exhibiting a distinctively crisp, paneled octagonal shape typical of the period's Gothic Revival influence, the collection comprises a tall lidded coffee pot, a matching lidded teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, a cream pitcher, and a small waste bowl or saucer, all nested atop a large, complementary octagonal serving platter.
