Description

This antique Victorian parlor accent chair features an elegant Eastlake / Aesthetic Movement style frame expertly crafted from a rich dark walnut wood with highly figured, decorative burled walnut panels integrated into the upper crest rail. The chair is defined by its ornate, architectural top, which is embellished with a fan-shaped sunburst carving, geometric molding, and stylized side finials. Both the rectangular backrest panel and the thickly padded seat are upholstered in a heavy, vintage floral tapestry fabric with muted shades of burgundy, cream, mauve, and green. The seat edges are neatly finished with a coordinating burgundy fabric trim. It is supported by two stylized, gently curving rear legs and two front legs featuring intricate ring-and-ball turned detailing. The front legs rest on their original small metal and porcelain casters, designed for easily moving the furniture across carpeted parlor floors.
