A large wooden sculpture of the famous Prince Phra Aphai Mani playing his magic flute, Thailand.
Finely decorated with all kind of ornaments in pink and turquoise lacquer.
From the epic poem of Sunthorn Phu, the great poet. 1786-1855 (The Shakespeare of Siam)
He composed his famous epic poem Phra Aphai Mani on nearby Samet Island Thailand.
The statue of Sunthorn Phu is in the village of Ban Kram, birthplace of his father in the Rayong province, in 1986 has the unesco given him the title as world poet.

Condition

Good vintage condition, light wear and distressing, some settling cracks, see pictures.
