"MELVIN DOUGLAS "DOC" MAYTUBBI - August 15, 1940 ~ February 24, 2021 (age 80) - He was born August 15, 1940 in Battiest, OK. His parents were the late Joel and Selma Holt. He was a graduate of Chilocco Indian School. Doc resided in Oklahoma City most of his life. He would come back to visit family and hunt and fish. He was employed at Rose Hill College, Oklahoma City and retired after 30 years. A self taught artist he was fortunate enough to receive formal training through higher education. He majored in Painting and Criminology at Eastern Oklahoma State College. From 1979 to 1981 he studied Painting at Central State University in Edmond, OK. He received his bachelors degree from Central State in 1981. He enjoyed painting and exhibited his paintings throughout Oklahoma and sold many of his paintings to various business in Oklahoma City and out of state." (Source: Find a Grave)
