Description
An antique Victorian chamber pot commode, a discreet piece of bedroom furniture dating from the late 19th. Constructed with a square, paneled oak frame, the cabinet features geometric, linear carved detailing on the side panels and metal reinforcement accents at the corners. The top showcases a padded needlepoint seat cushion featuring a decorative floral motif on a light blue background. When the hinged top lid is lifted, it reveals a secondary interior wooden lid with a turned central handle. Removing this inner lid exposes a contoured wooden toilet seat with a circular cutout. Inside the main well sits a removable, tapered galvanized metal bucket liner that serves as the chamber pot reservoir.
