Original Vintage J. Moran WWII US Navy Submarine Marine Oil Painting Framed 42"

Description

Original J. Moran 1983 WWII US Navy Submarine Marine Oil Painting. This meticulously detailed maritime oil on canvas painting vividly depicts a classic World War II-era United States Navy Gato-class (or Balao-class) fleet submarine navigating heavy, whitecapped ocean swells. The artwork showcases exceptional technical accuracy, highlighting the vessel's distinct conning tower configuration, periscope shears, and deck gun under a dramatic, overcast sky. The deep blue and green ocean waves are rendered with excellent texture and motion. The painting is prominently signed and dated "J MORAN 83" in crisp white paint in the lower right corner. The canvas is housed in its original vintage mid-century style wooden frame, complete with a classic textured cream linen liner and an inner wood lip.
