Monumental 20th century French Aubusson ""Royale"" tapestry. Titled ""La Chasse"" or Chasse a Couree (Hunting with Hounds). This tapestry depicts a noble hunting scene after the artist C. Detti, with characters dressed in richly-detailed 17th century-style costumes.

The style of this tapestry reflects the influence of the Renaissance, a period when the art of tapestry became more a copy of painting, with rich wide borders and scenes with great perspective and depth. This beautiful tapestry is woven on a jacquard loom by skilled weavers, keeping alive the centuries old tradition of tapestry manufacturing from generation to generation. This tapestry is fully lined in silk on the backside incorporating a sleeve along the top for hanging.
