Circa 1940s Mount Airy needlepoint dining chairs. Made from walnut with open pierced splat, carved accents, cabriole legs and needlepoint seats. Mount Airy of North Carolina's roots go back to 1888 when the lumber and woodworking industry was booming. They had three large factories and quickly evolved into specialized furniture suites. They enjoyed a successful run until 1997 when a fire completely destroyed their facilities.
