Vintage Gothic Victorian Style Carved Mahogany Half Tester Queen Size Canopy Bed

Description

Contemporary Carved Mahogany Half Tester Queen Size Bed, last quarter 20th c. Features serpentine finialed half tester with a pierced-scrolled applique, on turned tapered reeded octagonal posts, flanking a large arched headboard with a grape, bird and flower crest, above double arched panels, two wooden rails and a serpentine footboard with applied leaf and scroll carving. The design is inspired by a New Orleands bed from the middle of the 19th century.

Condition

Good Condition; some finish wear and edge wear from use and age, rubbing to the finish on the two back panesl of the headboard. Small split on the left side of the back board (doesn't affect structure)
