Antique Chinese Red & Black Lacquer Cupboard Wedding Cabinet Linen Press Armoire

Description

Monumental red over black lacquered Chinese cupboard, circa 1880s. Made from Elm with an artistic exterior featuring a scene of incense burners, censers, pots, ornate boxes and flowers along the doors. Frame is lined in alternating Chinese Greek key medallions. Doors and drawer are trimmed in brass. The cabinet opens to a large fitted shelf and a hidden compartment in the belly. Along the bottom is a large hand dovetailed drawer. The sides of the cabinet are paneled.

Condition

Good Antique Condition; age and use related wear. Some splitting to the sides and edge wear. A few chips in the frame along the sides. Area of lacquer missing along top of right side.
