The hotel opened as the Marine Hotel in 1865 and was renamed the Alexandra Hotel in 1891 after Queen Alexandra, wife of King Edward VII. The hotel currently operates under the label the New Alexandra Hotel. A beautiful Victorian era Gothic inspired structure that would have displayed this sign well.
