his low-profile rectangular footstool showcases an intricately woven cane top set into a deeply detailed, solid ebony wood frame. The substantial outer apron of the dark, dense wood is heavily ornamented with hand-carved acanthus leaf scrollwork and prominent horizontal reading that wraps around the entire perimeter. It is supported by four short, robust cabriole legs featuring matching floral relief carvings that terminate in tight scroll feet, exhibiting strong design influences from the Anglo-Indian, Dutch Colonial, or Rococo Revival traditions.
